    Old Indonesian textile, Sumba Island, hand woven cotton, warp face plain weave, the design in ivory supplemental warps, two prominent crayfish or lobsters on a red ground, there are no orange fibers, the orange is painted on ivory threads after the weaving is finished, at one time, the color red and crayfish and lobsters were an indication of high social status, the piece has condition issues, stains, fading, small holes, but still displays nicely, I have given this textile a good soaking wet wash by hand, the approximate size is 37.5 inches x 23 inches
